NAFCU Statement on House Passage of H.R. 5817

Washington, DC - National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) Executive Vice President of Government Affairs Dan Berger today issued the following statement in response to the House passage of H.R. 5817, which was introduced by Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.):

“This legislation eliminates an unnecessary, redundant and costly annual privacy policy notice requirement. It will save credit unions valuable staff resources, lower the cost of financial services, and reverse the negative environmental impact caused by such a requirement, while not harming consumers. We urge the Senate to pass this much-needed legislation quickly. NAFCU appreciates the leadership and hard work of Reps. Luetkemeyer and Sherman (D-Calif.), as well as their staffs, on this important issue.”
