MSUFCU’s annual Kids’ Day provides fun and financial education

EAST LANSING, MI (July 1, 2024) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) hosted its annual Kids’ Day event, welcoming more than 1,000 community members to its headquarters campus in East Lansing on Saturday, June 29, 2024, for several hours of fun and financial education.

The three-hour event featured engaging games, interactive exhibits, and educational booths covering topics such as saving, budgeting, and the importance of responsible spending. Experts from MSUFCU were on hand to guide children through these interactive activities, ensuring they left with practical knowledge to help navigate their financial futures.

There was no shortage of energy and excitement as guests also enjoyed sweet and savory treats including Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Cravings Gourmet Popcorn, cotton candy, and frozen treats. Music Unlimited provided music. Entertainment consisted of giant inflatables, lawn games, balloon animals, glitter tattoos, a magician, a bubble garden, STEM activities, Touch-a-Truck, and more.

“Kids’ Day is a dedicated opportunity to reach the youngest members of the community with fun and accessible financial education among other summer activities,” said Arianna Ridderbusch, Vice President of Community Impact. “MSUFCU is grateful to the community and vendor partners for its unwavering support and participation, without which this memorable family experience would not have been possible.”

Attendees had the opportunity to meet and engage with local celebrities, including the chance to collect an autograph and have a photo taken with Mary Meng from MSU women’s basketball team. Other guest appearances included Zeke the Wonderdog, Daniel Tiger from PBS/WKAR, and East Lansing police officers and firefighters.

A Sensory Space was provided where children and their parents could enjoy a calm atmosphere during the event. The space featured semi-private seating areas, ambient lighting, soothing music, soft pillows, coloring pages, and fidget toys.

Michael Brown, Planet X Events, Bubbles R Fun, WKAR, Impression 5 Science Center, STEM for All, Balloon Twists, Uncultured Enterprises, LLC, Jeff the Magician, Events to Rent, Granger Waste Management, and Lansing SAVE provided interactive games and educational activities.
