This holiday season, MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) members, employees, and the community can embrace the spirit of giving by participating in MSUFCU’s annual Giving Tree, which benefits local nonprofits and youth throughout Michigan.
“This is one of our favorite initiatives, as our collective participation reinforces a core philanthropic pillar ― supporting and strengthening the communities we serve,” said Arianna Ridderbusch, MSUFCU Vice President of Community Impact. “The Giving Tree embodies the Credit Union’s philosophy of people helping people, enriching lives, and spreading joy in the true spirit of the season.”
Last year, employees, members, and the community donated 735 gifts, helping to provide holiday gifts to 151 kids throughout the communities served by MSUFCU.
This year, the annual project will run from Oct. 28 through Nov. 22. Those interested in participating have the option to select a child’s gift tag from a Giving Tree in any Michigan full-service branch, purchase the gift listed, and return it to the Credit Union; shop via Amazon wish lists; or by making a monetary donation in a branch.
The nonprofits being supported this year include:
- American Indian Health & Family Services (Detroit)
- AYA Youth Collective (Grand Rapids)
- Child and Family Charities (Greater Lansing)
- Neighborhood House (Southeast Michigan)
- Women’s Resource Center (Traverse City)
During MSUFCU’s annual Pay it Forward week, Nov. 10-16, the Credit Union will match all Giving Tree donations.
