Mountain Credit Union Staff Attends Blue Ridge Metals Corp. Ribbon Cutting
Fletcher, NC – Mountain Credit Union staff in Fletcher, NC recently attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony held by Blue Ridge Metals Corporation for the expansion of its 175,000 square-foot facility. The company has invested at least $20 million in property, equipment and machinery, and has expanded its current facility by 15,000 square feet. This investment will allow the company to add new jobs as well as expand production capabilities to serve its customers in the US, Canada and Brazil. The extra space has allowed for the installation of the largest cold forming machine in North America. During a company sponsored contest, employees submitted their ideas for names for this new machine. The nominations were narrowed down and employees voted for their favorite with the name “Megatron” coming out as the winner.
Blue Ridge Metals is a leading supplier of wire processing and cold-formed products, most commonly utilized in the automotive industry. The relationship between Mountain Credit Union and Blue Ridge Metals began from the company’s inception in 1988 and has continued through the ups and downs of the economy. Several dignitaries and company officials were on hand for the ceremony. Mayor Bill Moore of the Town of Fletcher recently stated, “Blue Ridge Metals has served as a model corporate citizen since their decision to first locate here in 1988. Beyond the obvious benefits of new job creation and investment, the company has played a significant role in the development of the Town’s park and greenway system. We are proud of the bond between the Town of Fletcher and Blue Ridge Metals and look forward to future opportunities for collaboration.”
