Mortgage Forward, a wholly owned subsidiary of Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU), donated to the GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment as part of its "pay it forward" giving campaign. Every loan that Mortgage Forward provides has a giveback component.
When a client closes on their loan, Mortgage Forward gives a donation to a nonprofit of the client’s choice. On behalf of GLCU, Mortgage Forward donated $2,900 in originations in the third quarter to the GLCU Foundation.
“We’re proud to make this donation to the GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment and help fund essential financial education and community giveback programs,” said David Kottmann, Vice President of Residential Sales and Operations for Mortgage Forward. “Paying it forward to our communities is a key part of Mortgage Forward’s mission.”
The third quarter of 2024 marks Mortgage Forward’s first quarter of giving. The organization plans to continue its pay it forward campaign by making a quarterly donation to the GLCU Foundation. These donations complement the Foundation’s first-time homebuyer education and counseling programs, which help participants succeed in buying a home, maintaining their home, and understanding options and strategies for homeownership under challenging financial circumstances such as a pandemic, natural disaster, or job loss.
“The GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment thanks Mortgage Forward for their donation,” said Matthew Rizzie, Executive Director of the GLCU Foundation. “Donations like these from our partners make the important work we do in our communities possible.”
