GERMANTOWN, MD (July 10, 2013) -- Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union (MC EFCU), a Montgomery County, Md.-based full-service financial institution, announces the appointment of its president and CEO, Jim Norris to the Maryland and District of Columbia Credit Union Association’s (MDDCUA) Board of Directors. Norris has more than three decades of experience leading credit unions, within the region. He will join the board as Suburban Chapter Director and will support MDDCUA’s efforts to advocate, educate and strengthen the credit union community.
Norris, a resident of Severna Park, Md., has been affiliated with MDDCUA throughout his career and is currently vice president of the organization’s Suburban Chapter, a position he has held since 2011. Previous to his current position, Norris held the posts of president of the Baltimore Chapter and Suburban Chapter and vice president of the D.C. Chapter.
With more than 30 years of management experience within the industry, Norris brings an astute knowledge of credit unions. His professional experience includes having served as vice president of Delivery Systems at NIH Federal Credit Union, as president and CEO of AFL-CIO Employees Federal Credit Union, and as branch operations manager for SECU (State Employees Credit Union, Maryland). Norris has been the president and CEO of MC EFCU since 2010.
