Monterra Credit Union awards $25,000 in scholarships to San Mateo County high school seniors

REDWOOD CITY, CA (June 20, 2024)Monterra Credit Union is proud to announce it’s $25,000 scholarship program has awarded five scholarships for $5,000 apiece to deserving college-bound students in our community. This initiative underscores Monterra Credit Union’s enduring commitment to the financial wellness of our community and our dedication to helping future generations achieve their higher education goals.

Established in 2004, Monterra Credit Union’s scholarship program assists graduating high school seniors with college or technical school costs such as tuition, housing, books, and meals. To qualify, applicants are required to have at least a 3.0 GPA and submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, and an essay on a topic that changes each year. 

This year’s scholarship recipients come from five local high schools: Westmoor High School, Woodside High School, Carlmont High School, Sequoia High School, and Menlo-Atherton High School. The scholarship recipients were selected based on their academic achievements, community involvement, and financial need. Monterra Credit Union is committed to creating opportunities that empower young individuals to reach their full potential and contribute positively to society.
