Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union Announces Retirement of Board Member Paul Pavlovich

KINGSTON, NY (May 7, 2013) Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) Board Member and former Chairman, Paul Pavlovich, announced his retirement after 37 years of serving on the credit union’s Board of Directors. Paul was instrumental in expanding the credit union beyond the IBM Kingston facility when it closed in 1994 to serving the financial needs to the tri-county community of Ulster, Orange and Dutchess counties.

Paul was appointed Board Chairman in 1991 and served in that position for nearly 15 years. During his tenure, the IBM Kingston Plant closed in 1994 leaving the credit union in a difficult situation. Paul made the strategic decision to transform the credit union into a Select Employer Group (SEG) charter and then later a community charter in 2002.  Paul’s volunteer career at MHV includes serving as 1st Vice Chair, Treasurer and most recently, 2nd Vice Chair. Paul also was a member of the Facilities Committee, Asset/Liability Committee and the Executive Committee, among others.

Reflecting on his career at the credit union Paul stated, “It’s been a rewarding experience at MHV because I have been a participant in helping and working with a lot of the credit union employees. We have a great team here and the credit union having grown to 11 branch offices and over 200 employees is quite an accomplishment.”

Of Paul, Wayne Winkler, President & CEO of MHV states, “Paul has a dedication and passion for the industry that shines through when you talk to him. It is only through the persistence and nurturing of volunteers like Frank, that the credit union movement still stands strong on its roots which continue to guide growth today.”

As of his retirement date of April 18, 2013, Paul remains a resident of Saugerties and will continue to play a role at the credit union as Direct Emeritus.
