Members Development Company (MDC) brings together credit unions from across the country to collaborate for the collective good of the industry and its future. Taking the same approach with its board of directors, MDC is pleased to welcome Brad Bergmooser, who joins the board as a new director to collaborate with MDC’s fellow leaders in pursuit of industry transformation.
Bergmooser currently serves as president and chief executive officer at Michigan-based Financial Plus Credit Union, which serves more than 81,000 members and holds more than $1.2 billion in assets. Among his impressive accomplishments at Financial Plus is his leadership, and commitment to leveraging the power of industry-leading technology advancements. The integration of cloud-based, analytics-driven, and digital platforms has elevated the member experience while driving growth and improving operational efficiencies. At the same time, his visionary leadership has fostered a culture dedicated to employee learning and development. This strategic investment has led to more than 100 internal promotions in the last three years, shaping a workplace where every team member is empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Bergmooser came to Financial Plus Credit Union from Baxter Credit Union in Vernon Hills, Illinois, where he served as Vice President and General Counsel. His impressive legal background focused distinctly on the credit union movement. He held senior legal roles with the Illinois Credit Union System and worked as both inside and outside counsel for various credit unions. He is also a member of the state bars of Michigan and Illinois and currently serves on the CUNA Advocacy Committee, where he advises and provides policy recommendations to the CUNA Board of Directors regarding advocacy issues affecting the credit union movement.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law in Toledo, Ohio.
