MCCU and local law enforcement partner to provide fraud awareness & prevention education

MARSHALL, MI (October 22, 2024) — Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU), in collaboration with local law enforcement, will host a series of fraud awareness educational events in Battle Creek, Coldwater, and Marshall as part of International Fraud Awareness Week, November 17-23, 2024.

The events, titled “Fighting Fraud: Protecting Our Communities,” aims to educate attendees on the various types of fraud, including cyber scams, financial exploitation, and more.

In an era of increasingly sophisticated and rapidly evolving fraud, staying informed on what current fraud tactics are being used is essential to protecting yourself and your finances.

Participants will gain valuable insights into the techniques used by fraudsters, how to identify warning signs, tips for securing your personal and financial information, how to report fraud, and much more!

Battle Creek
Location: Battle Creek Friends Church, 1305 Olive Street

Coldwater

Details: A light lunch will be provided

Marshall
Location: Marshall Library, 124 W. Green Street
Date & Times: Thursday, November 21, 2024

Session 1: 12 – 2 PM
Session 2: 6:30 – 8 PM

Presenting: City of Marshall Police Officer Hug
Details: Light snacks will be provided at both sessions
