Mazuma Credit Union has announced the appointment of Deonne Christensen as Mazuma Credit Union’s new CEO. Christensen has been with the credit union since 2013 and has held several roles with a desire to make a positive impact, and focus on member experience. In May of 2018, Christensen transitioned into the role of Chief Experience Officer (CXO) after previously serving as Chief Operations Officer. Christenson officially stepped into the role of CEO on January, 22nd, 2019.
“After a difficult selection process, we are confident that Deonne will lead Mazuma along a path to a stronger, more effective organization.” said Board Member Russ Petry. “With over 25 years of credit union and banking experience, she has a great track record of success and we cannot wait to see what is in store for Mazuma!”
Christensen’s leadership style has been described as “values-based, people-centered leadership”, which aligns with Mazuma’s goal to become a strong and iconic Kansas City brand through fostering relationships and creating experiences.

Christensen’s extensive background in the industry has been instrumental in allowing Mazuma to grow and give in bigger and better ways to the Kansas City community. With her new leadership, Mazuma will continue to be driven by the desire to ensure that The Team is making a positive impact in all that they do.
