Mark Condon to retire from CUNA

MADISON, WI (September 16, 2013) — On Sept. 30, 2013 one of CUNA’s longtime leaders and innovators will be retiring from the association. Mark Condon, Senior Vice President of Business and Consumer Publishing, will be moving to the next phase of his life and career after 35 years with CUNA.

“Mark is one of the most knowledgeable and highly regarded leaders at CUNA. His historical knowledge and passion about all things credit unions always has been and continues to be impressive,” said Bill Cheney, president/CEO of CUNA. “We all thank Mark for his dedicated service, and wish him well on all his future endeavors. He will be missed.”

Mark put his stamp on a number of the core CUNA publications that have helped inform and educate the credit union system for decades. These include Credit Union MagazineE-Scan and News Now.  Mark has been a longtime advocate of the cooperative philosophy and has played a key role in forging important cooperative relationships, such as the strong tie with Coopera to help credit unions better serve the emerging Hispanic market. Mark has also spearheaded the need for CUNA to have a strong role in creating a shared credit union experience on International Credit Union Day in order to unite credit unions together on that important day.

Mark will be taking his love for history to another level post-CUNA as he pursues a masters in history with plans to eventually teach.
