TALLAHASSEE, FL (June 24, 2024) |
the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) presented the LSCU Awards for Volunteer of the Year at the 2024 Southeast Credit Union Conference & Expo (SCUCE) in Orlando, Florida. The LSCU Awards recognizes credit unions and credit union professionals who demonstrate exemplary service and accomplish significant achievements in the movement.
The Volunteer of the Year award recognizes credit union volunteers who have selflessly contributed time, effort, and talent to the development of the credit union movement in their state.
The winners of the Volunteer of the Year award are as follows:
- Ronnie Reed of Family Savings Credit Union (Alabama)
- Ann Strickland of Miami Postal Service Credit Union (Florida)
- Susan Ammons of GeoVista Federal Credit Union (Georgia)
“While the boards of many businesses are highly paid friends of top stockholders, credit union board members are member-elected volunteers who generously offer their experience and passion out of the goodness of their hearts,” said Samantha Beeler, President of LSCU. “The credit union movement’s dedication to service is truly embodied in Ronnie Reed, Ann Strickland, and Susan Ammons, who have selflessly given their time and energy for many years to help strengthen their credit unions and communities and spur them toward greater purpose. Their servants’ hearts are an inspiration to us all, and we are honored to name them our Volunteers of the Year.”
Next year’s LSCU Awards will be presented at the inaugural ENGAGE Conference, LSCU’s rebranded annual convention formerly known as SCUCE.
