Liberty Bay Credit Union, one of the most established credit unions in New England, has hired John Parillo as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Parillo will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the credit union and have functional responsibility for Retail Banking, Member Service, Deposit Operations, Information Technology and Accounting.
Parillo will play a vital role in the development and implementation of all organizational strategic plans. Parillo has extensive experience in implementing digital banking platforms, improving user experience, and reducing member friction, which will be vital in executing the new “Liberty Blue” Banking Program. “We were searching for an executive who could handle our ambitious plans for the future. John’s expertise and experience profiles are perfectly suited to the position,” said President Lyndon Matteson.

Parillo brings 18 years of banking experience to Liberty Bay Credit Union. Most recently, Parillo was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Pima Federal Credit Union in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to working at Pima FCU, Parillo was Vice President at Hingham Institution for Savings in Hingham, Massachusetts. He has also held various management positions at East Boston Savings Bank, based in Peabody, Massachusetts.
Parillo received both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, graduating summa cum laude, as well as his Masters of Business Administration, graduating with High Distinction, from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Additionally, Parillo is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Parillo will be relocating to the area in late April and will commence his new role on May 1.
