Land of Lincoln Credit Union Saves Members Over $1 Million

DECATUR, IL (April 9, 2014) — Land of Lincoln Credit Union (LLCU) has saved members over $1 million in loan interest since 2013.

Recently, a member saved over $10,000 by refinancing a motorcycle loan from over 20% APR down to just over 7% APR and shortened the term by 6 months. The credit union even paid for the $95 title switch, costing the member nothing but a few minutes with the loan officer.

“Our member was so happy she even offered to buy me a steak dinner, but I told her I was just happy to help her save her hard earned money,” Rashanda Bond-Partee, Loan Officer at LLCU said about the savings. “I love finding ways to save our members money.”

By refinancing an auto or mortgage loan to LLCU, members have been able to save money on interest, shorten their terms and even add protection to their loans to the tune of over $1 million since 2013.

The LLCU loan staff actively looks for ways to save members money, but also encourages non-members to compare their current rates and terms to see if a switch can help them save.

Just like any service such as cable or phone, consumers are advised to also price shop their banking to make sure they’re getting the best deal on everything from rates and terms to monthly fees and charges. Important things to consider include if the institution is federally insured and convenient to access.

Land of Lincoln Credit Union was founded in 1947. As a full-service financial institution, LLCU serves over 25,000 members. Membership in LLCU is open to anyone who lives or works in 21 Illinois counties and their immediate family members. Land of Lincoln Credit Union offers 9 convenient locations in 5 cities to best serve the needs of its membership. As a part of the CO-OP shared branching network, members also have access to over 5,000 branches and 30,000 ATM locations nationwide. For more information, visit us online at llcu.org.
