Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. It works in local communities across the USA and in 70 countries. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Families in need of decent, affordable housing apply for homeownership and are selected based on level of need, willingness to partner with Habitat, and their ability to repay a mortgage through an affordable payment plan. Habitat’s homebuyers invest hundreds of hours of their own labor, called “sweat equity,” working alongside volunteers and other Habitat homeowners.

Anyone who lives in the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan area can join LAFCU and take advantage of its financial services. For details, visit www.LAFCU.org, call (877) MY LAFCU (695-2328), or visit one of their branches.
