Lafayette Federal Credit Union celebrated the grand opening event of its new Greenbelt branch, located at 7357 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770. The celebration, which took place on July 10, 2024, marked a significant milestone for Lafayette Federal as they continue to expand their presence and commitment to serving the diverse communities within the DMV region.
The event was honored by the presence of Greenbelt Mayor Emmett Jordan and the City Council, whose support was instrumental in making the day a memorable one. Alongside Lafayette Federal’s Board Chair Gus Siekierka, President/CEO John Farmakides, and Branch Manager Krystal Delaney Essim, the Greenbelt and LFCU teams inaugurated the celebration with inspiring opening remarks, followed by the official ribbon-cutting, a delectable catered lunch, and a well-attended networking hour.
The grand opening drew a record number of attendees, which included many local officials, residents and employees. The event highlighted the vibrant community spirit in Greenbelt; the enthusiastic turnout and participation underscored the public’s support and excitement for the new branch.
