Kirk Kordeleski of Bethpage Federal Credit Union appointed to Co-Op Board of Directors
Kordeleski Fills Unexpired Term of Retired Member
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (September 3, 2014) — Kirk Kordeleski, President/CEO of Bethpage FCU, based on Long Island, New York, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of CO-OP Financial Services by a unanimous vote of the 10 other directors.
Kordeleski fills the position formerly held by Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, who retired earlier this summer from the CO-OP Board. Kordeleski’s term will expire in 2015, at which time he may stand for election for a first, full three-year term.
“I want to congratulate and welcome Kirk on his appointment to the CO-OP Board,” said Doug Ferraro, Board Chairman, and President/CEO of Bellco Credit Union. “Kirk has more than 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, and his solid financial and operational expertise will be of great value to the Board’s oversight duties of the movement’s largest and best cooperative.”
Kordeleski began his credit union career as a student intern at Bank-Fund Staff FCU. He joined Bethpage FCU (www.bethpagefcu.com) in 1992 as Executive Vice President, Operations, and became the third President/CEO in the credit union’s history in January 2000. Since then, Bethpage FCU has tripled in assets, with $5.5 billion in assets and more than 228,000 members. For five years in a row, Bethpage FCU has surpassed $1 billion in new loans.
