Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awards $19,500 in college scholarships

LOWELL, MA (July 3, 2024) — Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awarded $19,500 in college scholarships to members through their MoneyStrong and Employee College Scholarship Programs. Each year, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union offers scholarships to incoming college freshmen and current college students attending an accredited two or four-year college.

The Credit Union received over 100 applications for the 24th Annual MoneyStrong Scholarship and granted twenty-five scholarships to students. Applicants were asked, “As you enter your college years, and subsequently, start your professional life, what specific personal finance skills have you learned that you feel will guide you through this phase of your life?” Among the recipients, nineteen are high school seniors preparing for their freshman year of college and six are current college students attending various colleges and universities.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s commitment to its employees is evident through its Employee Scholarship Program. Jeanne D’Arc employees, as well as their eligible children or grandchildren, have the opportunity to receive one of five scholarships. Three are in honor of former Jeanne D’Arc employees and board members and two emphasize the importance of volunteerism. A total of $4,000 was awarded to the five recipients.

“Year after year, I find myself more impressed at the accomplishments of these incredible students,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “Their hard work and commitment to their studies, activities, and communities is evident, and we’re honored to support them as they work to accomplish those goals.”
