Jax Federal Credit Union has selected five winners for its annual scholarship contest. The credit union presented five $500 scholarships to students from across Northeast Florida:
- Bailey Bowen, a freshman at Florida State University who will be studying biology
- Ke’Yondra Merritt, a senior at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University who is studying sociology
- Jourdan Funderburk, a freshman at St. Johns River State College who is studying nursing
- Emma Brinson, a senior at Flagler College who is studying hospitality
- Kaitlynne Parrish, a freshman at St. Johns River State College who is studying biology
Jax Federal Credit Union received more than 30 applications for its scholarship contest this year. Applicants were asked to submit an entry form along with a 500-word blog post, including their best financial tip.
“This year is an especially exciting one for our scholarship contest, because we have updated the program to award not one, but five scholarships,” said Joe Nowland, President and CEO of Jax Federal Credit Union. “I’m proud to congratulate Bailey, Ke’Yondra, Jourdan, Emma and Kaitlynne on making this important step forward in their academic careers, and I’m excited to see where their studies take them.”
All Jax Federal Credit Union members who are in good standing and enrolled in a degree program at an accredited technical program, college or university are eligible to apply for the credit union’s annual scholarship contest. The contest will reopen in May 2020.
