Icon Credit Union members overwhelmingly vote yes to merger with Horizon Credit Union
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (July 7, 2020) — Members of Icon Credit Union – headquartered in Boise, ID with nine branches from Boise to LaGrande, OR – overwhelmingly voted “yes” to merge with Horizon Credit Union, headquartered in Spokane Valley, WA. Voting occurred electronically, by mail, and drop-off ballot, followed by a special membership meeting on June 11 with voting completed and certified on July 1, 2020.
The new combined organization will have over 100,000 members and nearly $1.5B in assets. This means greater strength and stability for the credit union and its members. It also increases access with 28 branches throughout the Inland Northwest from Eastern Washington, Montana, North and South Idaho and Eastern Oregon.

Ms. Miller will serve as the new regional president, leading the Oregon and Southern Idaho markets of the new organization. Mr. Adams will retain his role of president / CEO of the combined organization. The merger will be effective August 1, 2020 when Icon officially becomes part of Horizon Credit Union. System conversions to migrate Icon member records into Horizon will be complete November 3, 2020. No branch closures or layoffs are planned as a result of the merger.
