HRCU officially opens new Greenland, NH branch

Governor Chris Sununu commends Greenland’s first financial institution in 20 years

GREENLAND, NH (December 16, 2024) |

Holy Rosary Credit Union officially opened its newest branch in Greenland, NH, during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, December 12, 2024. HRCU’s new full-service branch, the first financial institution in Greenland in 20 years, was welcomed to the community by Chief Collaborator and President of the Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth Ben VanCamp, town officials, HRCU board members, neighbors and project team members.

“New Hampshire credit unions have a long history of supporting communities, as HRCU has done for years in Rochester, Farmington and Dover. Now, Greenland will benefit,” said New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu. “We love to see local businesses expand and invest right here in New Hampshire, and I congratulate HRCU on opening its new branch.”

A ceremonial ribbon was cut by HRCU’s Chairman of the Board, Dana R. Flanders, and was followed by a community open house.

“Community banking matters now more than ever. We have been invested in several seacoast communities for years, and we are excited to be entering the Greenland market,” said HRCU President and CEO Brian Hughes. “We are proud to work with Greenland leaders and neighbors, as well as the Pink Hippo Café, to provide a truly unique experience that will combine modern convenience with friendly, local service in a relaxed community gathering place.”

Located in a new mixed-use building off Route 33, adjacent to the Greenland Post Office, HRCU’s new full-service branch features a community lounge and a one-of-a-kind partnership with the neighboring Pink Hippo Café.

The Pink Hippo Café offers a welcoming atmosphere, coffee drinks, specialty desserts and baked goods, provided by Port City Coffee Roasters and Congdon’s Doughnuts. The trendy pink café also houses the work of over a dozen artists who craft and create locally in Maine and New Hampshire. The two businesses are connected with a welcoming set of French doors that will be open during credit union hours.

VanCamp celebrated HRCU’s commitment to Greenland and its partnership with the Pink Hippo as an example of local businesses strengthening the community.

“While the Portsmouth Chamber represents more than 750 local businesses, I’ve been told this is Greenland’s only financial institution. We are very excited to welcome HRCU, which has been involved with the community for a while, to the Greenland and Portsmouth area,” said VanCamp.

The new branch includes a drive-up ATM with an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM), as well as full-deposit services, and a complete line of affordable business services, consumer and mortgage loans. On-site wealth management is offered by Northeast Planning Associates (NPA).

The branch will be open Monday through Saturday and the drive-up ATM will be accessible 24 hours a day with a night drop for businesses as well.
