Honor Credit Union announces 15th Annual Teacher Awards application

BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI (August 20, 2024) — Honor Credit Union is excited to kick off its 15th Annual Teacher Awards, celebrating and supporting local educators with $500 Amazon digital gift cards. This initiative acknowledges Honor’s commitment to the tireless efforts teachers put into their classrooms and students throughout the year.

Teachers are invited to apply for the Annual Teacher Awards by submitting a brief statement (200 words or less) detailing how they would utilize additional funds to enhance their classroom environment or support their students. This year, 40 outstanding teachers will each receive a $500 Amazon digital gift card for classroom supplies, reflecting a $5,000 increase from 2023 and demonstrating Honor’s commitment to growing and enhancing the program.

2024 marks a significant milestone as Honor Credit Union continues its tradition of community support, reflecting its roots as Berrien Teachers Credit Union. The program aligns with Honor’s mission to give back, recognizing the invaluable contributions teachers make to our communities.

“At Honor, our roots run deep in the community, going back to 1934. We are committed to supporting education and local communities,” commented Scott McFarland, Honor CEO. “Our Teacher Awards Program aims to ease the financial burdens on educators so they can focus on teaching and inspiring future generations. We truly appreciate the dedication of teachers who invest their own money into their classrooms, and it’s our privilege to give back financially and support them in their important work.”
