PENSACOLA,FL (May 19, 2014) -- We did it! The community did it! Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union raised $146,465 through the Gulf Winds Manna Relief Fund for Manna Food Pantries. After Manna Food Pantries sustained extensive flood damage, Gulf Winds committed $50,000 in a matching donation fund. Community citizens and partners donated more than $95,000 in just two weeks.
Gulf Winds President and CEO, Chris Rutledge, presented a check today to Manna Food Pantries at their location, 116 East Gonzalez Street. Manna Executive Director, Dede Flounaker, and Manna Board of Directors were present to accept the check from Gulf Winds President and CEO, Chris Rutledge, and staff
“It is remarkable the support that this community has for Manna Food Pantries and their mission of leaving no one unfed,” said Chris Rutledge, President and CEO of Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union. “As soon as we announced that we would be matching dollar for dollar, we starting receiving donations for Manna that same day. We are pleased to be able to help Manna move one step forward to getting back to doing what they do best, helping those in need.”
Gulf Winds fulfilled their commitment to Manna Food Pantries, but they are still in need. Manna is still accepting donations through their website and can now accept non-perishable food donations.
