For Guardians Credit Union, turning management of its ATM fleet over to Dolphin Debit has been a huge benefit and has delivered a much improved member experience.
The West Palm Beach, Florida, credit union, with $306 million in assets and well over 36,000 members, opted for ATM fleet management with Dolphin Debit. The credit union has four ATMs at branches and 10 at various select employee group (SEG) sites.
The decision was a big move for Guardians, which had always managed its own ATM fleet. As Chief Financial Officer Minire Syla noted, the credit union looked closely at vendors before selecting Dolphin Debit for a number of reasons.
“Dolphin stood out because of their experience, reliability, and the fact that they could truly take the burden off our staff,” Syla said. “Their ability to manage everything seamlessly, combined with the marketing opportunities on ATM screens, made them the best choice for us.”
The credit union had a number of key priorities for the move, and Syla said that while reducing the burden on staff, compliance, and cost savings were all important, what was paramount was providing “the best possible experience for our members.” She added, “The convenience and reliability of our ATMs are crucial and outsourcing to Dolphin helps us make sure we’re meeting those expectations while also taking pressure off our internal teams.”
Since outsourcing management of the ATMs, Guardians has enjoyed less downtime and faster resolution of any issues. Staff is spending much less time on any ATM-related tasks. Also, the upgraded and more reliable ATMs are making transactions smoother for members.
Going forward, Syla said that as the credit union continues to evaluate new ways to improve member access and service, ITMs – interactive teller machines – are something worth considering. Overall, she noted, “ATMs remain a critical part of how we serve our members. They provide easy access to cash, deposits, and account services, especially in SEG locations. Plus, with the ability to use our ATMs for targeted promotions, they’re a direct channel for us to connect with members and offer them valuable services.”
