Grow Financial Federal Credit Union Hosts “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”

Thursday, April 25 - 7:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

TAMPA, FL (April 18, 2013) Grow Financial, one of the leading Credit Unions in the nation, will be hosting 65 children between the ages of 8 -18 of Grow Financial employees, who will have the chance to see what their parents do for a living, at the Credit Union’s corporate office during “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.”

This national event, now in its 21st year, gives children real-world experience in the day-to-day operations of a company, while also introducing them to future career possibilities and reinforcing the value of education.  The day will begin with breakfast served in the headquarters’ break room, then a tour of the various departments within Grow Financial, from Operations to Marketing. At mid-day, the children will be entertained with games, a mobile animal exhibit provided courtesy of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, and music and dancing from RadioDisney, AM 1380. Children will also spend time doing some role-playing as tellers and attend a class on the basics of personal financial management, while children of high-school age can learn budgeting tips and how to prepare for the real world after graduation.

“We have a number of activities planned throughout the day to ensure that our participating children experience an enriching education opportunity with us,” said Anna Lynch, a key organizer of the event and Campaign Management Strategist for the Credit Union. “We think they will really appreciate the chance to see what their parents do at the office, and we are thrilled to be able to host this event for the 6th year in a row at our corporate headquarters.”
