Globlal CU recognizes Senior Airman Chandler Tuscany at Hometown Heroes Luncheon

Spokane, Wash. –  Global Credit Union sponsored Senior Airman Chandler Tuscany at the American Red Cross Hometown Heroes Luncheon November 15, 2012 at the Northern Quest Resort and Casino. This is the Credit Union’s fourth year participating in the event, which generally attracts over 500 attendees, to acknowledge acts of heroism in the community.

Senior Airman Chandler Tuscany, a military hero, has proved to be a hometown hero when he saved the life of a seizing woman on a commercial flight. During this flight, an overhead announcement asked anyone on board with medical training to report to the flight crew. Senior Airman Tuscany, who had taken EMT courses, immediately identified himself and was directed to a distressed passenger who was seizing and vomiting. As he began assessing the woman, she stopped seizing, grabbed her chest and collapsed over her seat. Senior Airman Tuscany instinctively began CPR, but after no response he utilized an AED which delivered two lifesaving shocks. The plane made an emergency landing with Tuscany continuing aid until the woman was transferred to a medical team on the ground.

Senior Airman Chandler Tuscany is currently deployed so his commanding officer, Chief Bill Nowlin, was there to accept the award in his honor. The exemplary bravery and courageousness Senior Airman Tuscany exhibited will not be forgotten.

This event is a reminder that a community’s strength is dependent on acts of selflessness and valor. This year marked the tenth annual Hometown Heroes Luncheon and Global Credit Union is proud to be a continued sponsor.
