Global Credit Union Foundation gives $115,000 to local nonprofits

The Global Credit Union Foundation donated $115,000 to community nonprofits in Alaska, Arizona, and California as part of its 2025 quarterly distribution of funds to its nonprofit partners in areas served by the credit union.

"We collaborate with these nonprofits because we have witnessed the positive impact they have on the community," said Noël Gabler, Executive Director, Global Credit Union Foundation.  "The essential services they offer are unique and invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication to making our world a better place."

Recipients of funds include:

  • $15,000 to Beans Café of Alaska – Bean’s Cafe exists to fight hunger and homelessness one meal at a time.  They provide healthy meals for school children through their Children’s Lunchbox program as well as nutritious meals for those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

  • $5,000 to Challenge Alaska – Challenge Alaska improves the lives of people with disabilities, their families, and the community through adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation, and education.

  • $10,000 to A Greater Hope of California – Greater Hope provides a continuum of care that includes child abuse prevention and treatment, foster care, supervised visitation, adoption services, and a full scope of counseling and behavioral health services.

  • $5,000 to Educare Arizona – Educare Arizona’s mission is to ensure vulnerable young children and their families achieve success in school and in life by providing quality early childhood learning, family support, and health care.

  • $15,000 to Girl Scouts of Alaska – Supported by adult volunteers and mentors in Alaska, as well as millions of alums around the globe, Girl Scouts lead the way as they discover who they are and how they can make the future a brighter place.

  • $5,000 to Southwest Human Development – Southwest Human Development strengthens the foundation Arizona’s children need for a great start in life, with a commitment to services that uplift the lives of children, families, other care providers, and the communities in which they live.

  • $60,000 to Armed Services YMCA of Alaska – The Armed Services YMCA enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life.
