GLCU hosting a Juntos Avanzamos Proclamation Ceremony in Waukegan
WAUKEGAN, IL (September 25, 2024) — Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU), a not-for-profit financial cooperative headquartered in Northern Illinois, is hosting a proclamation ceremony on October 1 at its Waukegan branch to celebrate earning the Juntos Avanzamos designation.
The Juntos Avanzamos designation (a Spanish phrase that translates to “Together We Advance” in English) is awarded by
Inclusiv and recognizes credit unions that are committed to serving and empowering Hispanic and immigrant communities.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CST, and will feature speeches from Steve Bugg, GLCU’s President and CEO, and Pat Price, GLCU’s board chair. Media and members of the community are invited to attend the ceremony and enjoy a mariachi band, food truck, and more.
According to Inclusiv, Juntos Avanzamos credit unions “employ bilingual, culturally competent staff and leadership, accept alternative forms of ID and treat all of their members with respect, regardless of immigration status.”
