Gesa Credit Union Sponsors Wenatchee Habitat for Humanity Event

Gesa donates $3,500 to host recognition event for Wenatchee Habitat for Humanity Volunteers

RICHLAND, WASH. (NOVEMBER 2012) – Gesa Credit Union has donated $3,500 to Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Wenatchee Area to host Volunteer Appreciation Night at their newly opened Habitat Store.

The Wenatchee Habitat affiliate had been searching for a way to show their appreciation to those who have volunteered on home builds and who have assisted with development of the Habitat for Humanity Store. “We wanted to hold an event to really thank our volunteers for all the hard work they put into this organization,” said Natalie Narby, Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director. With a limited budget, Habitat reached out to Gesa for support. “Habitat has truly made an impact in our community,” said Gesa President and CEO Christina Lethlean. “We’re delighted to help Habitat show their volunteers how much they’re appreciated.” This event brought together Habitat staff, volunteers, and donors who were treated to local wines, hors d’oeuvres, and a tour of the newly opened Habitat for Humanity Store.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit dedicated to eliminating poverty and homelessness. Habitat works in partnership with low-income working families, sponsors and communities to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner families.
