Gesa Credit Union partners with CHAS Health Foundation to support healthcare workers in the Pacific Northwest

The three-year partnership will provide a total of $75,000 in funds to support frontline healthcare workers facing unexpected financial hardship

RICHLAND, WA (April 24, 2025) |

Gesa, a leading credit union in Washington dedicated to driving meaningful change in the communities it serves, today announced a new three-year partnership with the CHAS Health Foundation to support the frontline healthcare professionals who serve communities across the Pacific Northwest.

As a part of the agreement, Gesa will proudly serve as the exclusive financial sponsor of the CHAS Health Employee Emergency Fund, contributing $25,000 annually through 2027. The fund provides vital financial relief to CHAS Health employees navigating unexpected personal emergencies such as medical expenses, sudden income loss, housing or food insecurity, and other unforeseen hardships.

"We are grateful for our partnership with Gesa and their commitment to supporting local healthcare heroes,” said Kasey Webster, Director of the CHAS Health Foundation.  “Gesa’s generous support of our Employee Emergency Fund strengthens the Foundation’s ability to assist CHAS Health staff facing unexpected financial hardships, ensuring they can continue caring for our patients."

In addition to financial contributions, Gesa will host ongoing employee appreciation events and provide staff with financial wellness resources to help them build financial confidence and stability.

“Healthcare workers are often the first to show up for others, even when they’re going through difficult times themselves,” said Amber Merrill, Community Relations Manager at Gesa Credit Union. “This partnership is about making sure they have someone in their corner, too. It’s a chance for us to give back in a way that’s personal, practical, and rooted in the same values that drive their work every day.”
