Georgia Credit Union Association honors Georgia State Representative Matt Reeves as 2024 Lawmaker of the Year

The Georgia Credit Union Association, a subsidiary of The League of Credit Unions, proudly recognizes Georgia State Representative Matt Reeves (HD-99) as the recipient of the 2024 State Lawmaker of the Year Award in Georgia.

"Representative Reeves has truly set the standard for legislative partnership. His willingness to engage with credit unions, educate himself on their unique issues, and take proactive steps to address concerns has been invaluable,” said Sydney Seral, Chief Advocacy Officer for The League and the Georgia Credit Union Association. “His leadership on key bills like HB 1292 demonstrates his dedication to protecting consumers and ensuring that credit unions can continue their mission of serving members and communities."

Representative Reeves is a dedicated public servant who holds several key leadership roles in the Georgia House of Representatives. He is the Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Secretary of the Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee, and serves as a member the Appropriations and Insurance Committees. Representing Gwinnett County, Georgia's second-largest county and home to the state’s largest school system, Representative Reeves is a steadfast advocate for taxpayers and homeowners. With over two decades of public service, his contributions include serving as President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, President of the Duluth Rotary Club, and as a member of the Duluth Parks Board.
