Auburn Hills, MI, October 18, 2012 – Genisys Credit Union recently sponsored the 26th Annual Harvest Happening festival on October 6, 2012, at historic Hess-Hathaway Park in Waterford.
Around 5,000 people came out for family fun during the fall festival, which featured a hayride, farm animals, crafts, Golden Age Club bake sale, refreshments and even a magic act put on by Ronald McDonald. Pony rides and a giant inflatable slide were also available to the children, along with free face painting sponsored by Genisys.
“The festival is filled with a variety of entertainment and is a great way to spend the day,” said Jackie Buchanan, CEO. “The employees are more than happy to participate and the kids love it.”
The hayride took families on a scenic view of the back acreage of the park and historical house tours were given of Mrs. Hess’ farm house circa 1870s. Adults and children could also sit on and inquire about the several brands of antique tractors that were on site.
“Although the weather was chilly, families bundled up and had a great time at the park,” said Lori Soma, Waterford Township’s Recreation Supervisor. “They were excited to see all of the farm animals, as well as the animals Science Alive brought for an interactive show.”
There were several other local entertainers including the Up the Creek band and Flip Starz Gymnastics that put on excellent acts that everyone enjoyed.
