Auburn Hills, MI, October 16, 2012 – Genisys Credit Union’s Public Relations & Community Involvement Manager, Linda Zabik, was recently recognized as one of the 2012 Esteemed Women of Michigan. She and 24 other women were honored on September 24, 2012, at the Third Annual Esteemed Women of Michigan Luncheon benefiting the Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic. Each woman was nominated for giving their time and energy to better our state and its individual communities.
“It’s an honor to be recognized among this group of talented women who all have the same vision in mind – to give back to their community,” said Zabik.
Zabik has been part of the Genisys team since 1996, after her 24-year career with Boy Scouts of America. She has been a part of numerous community service projects and has won several well-deserved awards for her devotion of giving back to the community over the years.
As a member of the Woodward Avenue Action Association, Great Lakes State Fair, Optimist Club, and Clinton River Watershed, Zabik has certainly earned her recognition as an Esteemed Woman. She has served as the Oakland County Chairperson for Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency’s Walk for Warmth campaign and alongside Lighthouse of Oakland County in their annual Hunger Walk.
“On behalf of everyone at Genisys, I am very proud of Linda for receiving such a prestigious award,” said Jackie Buchanan, CEO. “Her desire for community involvement is nothing short of respected by everyone at Genisys, and she is an excellent example of what it means to give back.”
Zabik is the winner of the Boy Scouts of America Achiever Award, the Credit Union Community Volunteer Award and the Woodward Avenue Action Change Agent of 2011. She can now celebrate another milestone in her rewarding career.
