MADISON, Wis. — In honor of this year’s National Credit Union Youth Week™ theme “Money Rocks at My Credit Union,” the credit union music duo The Disclosures has released a new song called “Save!” Credit unions celebrating Youth Week in April may download the song for free to distribute and share with youth. A link to the song is available from cuna.org/youthweek.
“Pure fun,” is how Joanne Sepich, CUNA’s Youth Week coordinator, described the song, confessing her favorite line is about a peanut butter jar. “More than just entertaining, ‘Save!’ also exemplifies the principles we try to convey: make a plan and start saving at your credit union,” she adds.
The song is a natural anthem for the 2011 National Youth Saving Challenge™ which, in conjunction with Youth Week, runs the entire month of April. This year, more than 300 credit unions are participating with the collective goal of inviting nearly 100,000 young members to make deposits worth more than $14 million in April. Credit union participation ranges from some of the nation’s smallest credit unions right through to the very largest.
