FORUM Credit Union CEO, Doug True, won the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award at the 7th Annual Mt. Vernon Education Foundation Gala on Saturday, April 12. The gala was hosted at the Indiana Roof Ballroom and honored Mt. Vernon’s teachers, staff, alumni, and community leaders who champion education. The event raised more than $25,000 to fund a new library at the Mt. Vernon Intermediate School opening this fall. The Community Foundation of Hancock County also played a role in the evening event.
Doug graduated from the Mt. Vernon High School class of 1984 and has been a dedicated leader in the financial services industry since 1988. With a strong background in consumer lending, retail, and technology, he founded FORUM Solutions in 2000, pioneering the TAPS Lending Software. Under his leadership, FORUM has been named a best place to work in Indiana every year since 2011. In 2014, the FORUM Foundation was established to award classroom grants and collegiate scholarships in central Indiana. $1.5 Million has been awarded to date. According to the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation Executive Director, Renee Oldham, “Doug is a visionary leader dedicated to financial innovation, education, and community service. Under his leadership, FORUM has expanded its impact, empowering individuals through financial literacy and mentorship. His integrity, leadership, and commitment to service make him a deserving 2025 Mt. Vernon Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.”
“It was an honor to be recognized, and it was a special night for FORUM Credit Union and the FORUM Foundation. The FORUM Foundation was acknowledged during the event as a difference maker in the Mt. Vernon School district as several students have received collegiate scholarships and teachers have been awarded educator grants,” said Doug True, FORUM CEO.
