York, PA – On December 5, 2012, First Capital Federal Credit Union held a silent auction during its holiday party. The silent auction was made up of items donated by our Select Employee Groups and others affiliated with the C.U., and ranging from a framed picture and signed baseball to gift cards and duffle bags. Employees bid on the items all evening and in all raised $1,835 for the York Cancer Center. The money will be used to help cancer patients in York County pay their utilities and fuel bills this winter, as well as purchase food.
This was all part of First Capital’s commitment to our No One Fights Alone Campaign. The campaign started with a desire to help two employees battling cancer and expanded beyond that. Since 2011, First Capital has raised over $7,000. That money has gone towards cancer research and helping those locally who are battling the disease.
