Fifth annual “Envision No Hunger” campaign continues support for Second Harvest of the Big Bend childhood nutrition services

Envision Credit Union will match up to $30,000 in donations to the School Market Program

TALLAHASSEE, FL (July 18, 2024)Envision Credit Union (Envision) recently announced the launch of their  fifth annual “Envision No Hunger” initiative, benefitting Second Harvest of the Big Bend’s School  Market Program. This program installs food pantries in local schools to provide children and  their families with fresh produce, protein options, and pantry staples. There are currently 19  school markets operating within the Big Bend region, offering convenient access for students  and their families to select items as needed. This year’s Envision No Hunger donations will be  used to expand the pantry program into new school locations, providing food security to more  families in need.

“Envision was founded by a group of educators 70 years ago, with a core mission to support  programs that directly benefit the lives of children in our local communities,” said Darryl  Worrell, President and CEO of Envision Credit Union. “We are extremely proud of our long term partnership with Second Harvest of the Big Bend, and the thousands of families we have  assisted together over the years. We hope you will join us in donating to this year’s Envision No  Hunger initiative so we can continue to ensure that children in our communities have access to  the food they need to successfully grow and learn.”

With the funds raised from last year’s Envision No Hunger campaign, Second Harvest opened  eight new school pantries, providing food to an additional 400 families per month. The food bank also used these funds to distribute 36,000 more meals, equivalent to 43,000 pounds of food, in  the 2023-2024 school year, compared to the previous year. This year’s Envision No Hunger fundraising period will end on Sunday, August 18. Envision Credit Union will be  matching all donations made within that timeframe, up to $30,000.

“We thank Envision Credit Union for their continuous support of Second Harvest and our  mission to fight hunger in the Big Bend,” said Monique Ellsworth, CEO of Second Harvest of  the Big Bend. “Their unwavering commitment has allowed our School Market program to grow  to new heights and expand far beyond our expectations. We are extremely grateful for the  partnership and generosity in making a meaningful difference in our community.”
