Dover Federal Teams Up with Popmoney to Offer Money Transfer Services

DOVER, DE (April 18, 2013) – Dover Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that its new, user-friendly online banking system is up and running.  It now includes a premier money transfer function that allows credit union members to safely send money to anyone with a U.S. bank or credit union account.

Teaming up with Popmoney, a popular and innovative service provider, Dover Federal’s online banking allows users to send money to their family, friends, babysitters, relatives in the military, or a child at college, in a safe secure and easy manner.  Members who use Popmoney do not need to share their bank account information, or any sensitive information, in order to send or receive funds. With only the recipient’s name and mobile telephone number (or name and email address), Dover Federal members can forward money to anyone with an account at a U.S. financial institution. Moreover, with a cost of only 50 cents per transaction, Dover Federal’s new money transfer function makes sending money inexpensive and accessible for its members.

When asked about the credit union’s new service, David Clendaniel, Dover Federal’s President and CEO, replied with enthusiasm. “At Dover Federal, we are always looking for new ways to make financial management easier and more convenient for our members,” Clendaniel said. “We are pleased to be able to offer this new service, which allows for quick and convenient money transfers without sacrificing security.”

First chartered in 1958, Dover Federal Credit Union is the largest credit union in the state of Delaware, with a membership of 38,360. Dover Federal has offices in Smyrna, New Castle, Milford, and Dover, including one at Dover Air Force Base. Dover Federal has proudly served the military and Delaware families for over 50 years.
