DayMet Credit Union issues $3,000 in COVID-19 Relief Grants

DayMet Credit Union has provided $3,000 in grant money to members experiencing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The credit union received a portion of this funding through a grant from the Ohio Credit Union Foundation. DayMet called on members impacted financially to submit an application for grocery, utility, or rent assistance.

“We received 128 applications in a 24-hour period,” said Jaime Crooks, VP of Marketing at DayMet, “We know that a large number of our members are experiencing hardship and our hearts go out to them. We wish we could assist every single one.”

DayMet issued ten (10) grants in increments of $250 or $500. Through the COVID-19 pandemic the credit union has processed more than 300 loan skip-a-payments and waived $14,000 in fees. In addition, low-rate member assistance loans were offered to members to bridge gaps in employment income.

“We are in a challenging time right now,” said Steve Shore, DayMet’s President/CEO. “We want our members to know we are here to work with them and help them get through this.”
