CU*SOUTH is pleased to announce the promotion of Starla Honea to the position of Senior Vice President of Sales. In her new capacity, Honea will oversee all aspects of CU*SOUTH’s internal and external business development initiatives, as well as continue to serve as a vital member of the CU*SOUTH Executive Council.
Beginning her CU*SOUTH career in 2007, Honea has played a significant role in helping the CUSO grow from serving just 4 credit union partners when she started, to over 65 in 2021. “Starla has helped to shape or influence nearly every functional area of CU*SOUTH,” says Chief Operating Officer, Derrick Smith, “having served in leadership in both operations and sales roles. She is very well respected across the credit union movement and within our cuasterisk CUSO network,” continues Smith. “Starla is an acknowledged expert in navigating a core change, providing liaison support with associated third parties, and an experienced resource on the entire CU*BASE core system and related products.”

As part of the cuasterisk network with a community of over 350 credit union partners, CUSO-based CU*SOUTH was founded in July, 2006, with a mission to grow credit unions. They do this by delivering an outstanding core software and support experience (CU*Base), as well as by delivering Collaborative Services with fractional employees to support the credit unions in the cuasterisk network — with accounting and back office support; media services including custom video production; IT management; and more.
