Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and the National Association of Latino Credit Unions & Professionals (NLCUP) today announced a collaborative partnership to further diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the credit union movement.
“We built the Associate Business membership model to support the growth of our movement and to create opportunities for cross-collaboration. As our industry makes strides to advance DEI, it is important that we lean on and work with each other,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “CUNA is proud to partner with NLCUP, the leading industry advocate for the Hispanic/Latino community, to bring greater awareness to DEI efforts and support Hispanic/Latino credit union professionals.”
CUNA is partnering with NLCUP to support Hispanic/Latino credit union professionals and to drive financial inclusion and equity for the Hispanic/Latino community. The partnership demonstrates the importance of collaboration to sustain our industry-wide DEI efforts. It also represents a key element of CUNA’s DEI strategy, which seeks to amplify and support the work of credit union system partners and credit unions working to promote financial inclusion and well-being for all.
“We are so proud to join CUNA as an Associate Business Member. At NLCUP, we recognize that partnerships are vital to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the industry and that collaboration is key to transcendental change. NLCUP is committed to empowering Hispanic/Latino communities, and we strive to promote DEI to create a stronger, more equal world.” said NLCUP Executive Director Diana I. Hastings. “Furthermore, empowerment and asset-building within the Hispanic/Latino community requires action that catalyzes systemic change. To achieve this, it is essential to join forces with organizations to leverage and maximize resources and increase capacity and impact.”
