CUNA to host Leadership Through Emotional Intelligence webinar series July 14-Aug. 18, 2016
WASHINGTON, DC (May 27, 2016) — Credit Union National Association has announced the Leadership Through Emotional Intelligence webinar series, a five-part online program designed to provide credit union trainers and leaders with stronger people management skills founded in an understanding of how emotions affect work interactions. The series will run from July 14-Aug. 18, 2016.
“Human beings are emotional animals, and the workplace often asks us to confront situations that cause emotions to run high. True leadership is about acknowledging this reality and finding a way to balance your employees’ feelings with your credit union’s needs,” said Courtney Cantwell, instructional design manager at CUNA. “Anyone who is in charge of a team at their credit union should view these webinars as an opportunity to become a more empathetic and, ultimately, more effective leader.”
The webinars will be held once per week from 2:00-3:15 p.m. CDT, with a break week on August 4. Terry Hasty, vice president of the training and development firm MindSpring Consulting, Inc, will host the webinars, which collectively will show participants how to foster a better work environment where staff members are emotionally equipped to realize their full potential.
Sessions include:
- Emotional Self-Awareness and Emotional Expression
- Dealing with Conflict and Difficult People
- Leading with Integrity
- Cultivating a Climate of Trust and Communication
- Resilience and Wellness
Recorded versions of the webinars will be made available after their live broadcasts.
