CUNA FUSE 2016 slated for Aug. 15-18 in Las Vegas

WASHINGTON, DC (February 16, 2016) — Credit Union National Association (CUNA) will host this year’s CUNA FUSE – Branch Operations & Business Development School Aug. 15-18, 2016 in Las Vegas. Comprised of expert-led sessions and experiential learning activities, this event is dedicated to credit union professionals in the business development and branch operations fields.

“CUNA FUSE exceeded my expectations,” said Rick Bentley, member center manager of Citizen’s Equity First CU and an attendee of last year’s school. “I envisioned listening to lectures and meeting a few people; instead, I participated in dynamic activities and conversations that will benefit my credit union.”

The school offers two tracks of learning for branch operations and business development professionals respectively. In addition to field-specific content, students in both tracks take part in general sessions that examine how the two disciplines can collaborate. Attendees are encouraged to network both within and outside of their field throughout the event.

“Operations and business development intersect in a number of meaningful ways, and when credit unions fuse these departments, they unlock new possibilities of efficiency and growth,” said Ariel Bilskey, instructional design manager at CUNA. “’At CUNA FUSE, professionals in these two areas become more knowledgeable in their fields while also learning to work with those outside their field.”

Attendees who complete the business development track of CUNA FUSE will have the opportunity to earn the Credit Union Business Development Professional (CUBDP) designation.
