CUNA eSchool to designate new Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors this fall.
MADISON, WI (September 26, 2014) — This fall, credit union professionals will have the opportunity to earn the CUNA Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation during CUNA Certified Financial Counselor eSchool: Part 2, taking place October 7 – November 25, 2014. Program details and registration are available at cuna.org/ficep.
“It’s always inspiring to see attendees coming back to finish their designations in Part 2 of this program,” commented Courtney Cantwell, CUNA Instructional Design Manager. “Building on the topics and lessons they learned in Part 1, this program’s attendees will continue to develop the skills and confidence to guide members through future financial situations and set their credit unions apart as people-centric institutions.”
CUNA Certified Financial Counselor eSchool: Part 2 trains financial counseling experts by building proven financial counseling skills and strategies for incorporating those skills in various elements of their credit unions’ cultures. Over the course of eight Tuesdays, Part 2 will prepare attendees to help their members manage expenses, understand their tax obligations, purchase insurance that fits their budget, build an investment strategy and plan for retirement.
Session dates and topics:
- October 7 & 14: Controlling Living Expenses
- October 21 & 28: Why People Act the Way They Do About Money
- November 4 & 11: Taxes, Insurance and Investments
- November 18 & 25: Retirement and Personal Financial Preparedness
Upon completion of this eSchool and all corresponding exams, attendees will fulfill the requirements of Part 2 of the Credit Union Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) and earn their CCUFC designation. For those who can’t attend this fall’s eSchool or who have not yet completed Part 1 of FiCEP, certification credit can also be earned through FiCEP self-study modules.
