CUNA has launched a new Pressing Economic Issues Series, presented by CUNA economists Bill Hampel, Mike Schenk and Steve Rick, that provides 30-minute monthly updates on current economic issues facing credit unions.
The series focuses on keeping credit union board members, management, and staff informed on the most current issues impacting credit unions. In a 30-minute update on the first week of each month, the CUNA economists will share their perspectives on the current economic environment delivered via a recorded presentation.
“CUNA’s panel of economic experts are the most reliable source of up-to-date information on the economic issues facing credit unions,” said Todd Spiczenski, Vice President of The Center for Professional Development. “Their expertise will allow credit unions to stay on top of this ever changing economic environment without having to sift through countless websites and stacks of literature.”
CUNA Economists:
Bill Hampel is the senior vice president of research and policy analysis and chief economist for the Credit Union National Association. He writes economic analysis columns that appear in several credit union publications. An expert on the economy and credit union issues, Hampel is regularly interviewed by the media for stories appearing on national news outlets.
Mike Schenk is vice president of economics and statistics for the Credit Union National Association. He conducts economic and financial research and provides support for CUNA’s governmental affairs and public relations efforts. Schenk is an expert on the economy and credit union issues with more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
Steve Rick is a senior economist for Credit Union National Association. He conducts economic research, teaches at various credit union schools and conferences, and writes articles for CUNA publications. Steve facilitates strategic planning sessions for credit union boards and has authored a textbook on asset-liability management. Steve is also a faculty member of the economics department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Credit unions can subscribe to this 12-session series for one year for $499, which allows unlimited users to share one subscription. A discount is available for credit unions under $20 Million in assets. Recorded individual sessions are available for purchase each month for $99 each.
