CUNA accepting nominations for Compliance Professional Awards
WASHINGTON, DC (February 21, 2017) — Nominations are now being accepted in both categories of the 2017 CUNA Compliance Professional Awards. A celebration of outstanding achievements in credit union compliance, the awards will be presented at the Fall CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School, to be held Sept. 17-22, 2017, in Nashville.
The first category, the Compliance Champion of the Year Award, recognizes credit union compliance professionals who best demonstrate leadership, achievement and excellence in compliance management and have made a significant contribution to the industry.
The Compliance Impact Award, the second category, recognizes credit unions whose compliance efforts have had a direct impact on reducing reputational, financial or operational loss within their credit union or community.
Three asset categories are available for each award: less than $100M, $100-500M and greater than $500M. Best in Class winners from each category will be recognized at CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School and profiled in Credit Union Magazine and CUNA’s Compliance Community. In addition, one first place winner will also receive travel expenses paid to the school to accept the award live.
“I’m fortunate to work for a credit union that supports my ongoing compliance education,” said 2016 Compliance Champion Award Best in Class winner Joyce Johnson Keehan, compliance officer at Hudson Valley FCU in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. I enjoy helping people from smaller credit unions that have a tough time keeping up with all of the regulatory changes.
Entries are due by July 1, 2017. To learn more about the categories and make a submission, please visit the awards page within CUNA’s Compliance Community.
