CUES Donates $5,000 in Honor of Mark Hawkins

MADISON, Wis. - The Credit Union Executives Society has contributed $5,000 to the Altura Credit Union Foundation, in honor of board member Mark Hawkins, CEO, Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif. The Altura Credit Union Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors in the Riverside County, Calif. area.

Hawkins was elected to the CUES board in 2003, and recently completed his term. Hawkins served as board chairman from 2007-08. Additionally, he has served as secretary, treasurer, and vice chair during his tenure.

"It's been such a pleasure being on the CUES board," said Hawkins. "I'm very proud of my association with CUES. I've enjoyed working alongside my fellow board members, and helping CUES grow in the meantime. And, I'm grateful for the generous donation CUES is sending to the Altura Credit Union Foundation."

"We greatly appreciate the time Mark has spent on the board," said Fred Johnson, CUES president/CEO. "During his service, CUES made great strides, including the creation of group memberships to make our benefits more readily available to more of the movement's leaders, and the creation of the Center for Credit Union Board Excellence (CCUBE)."
