The judges for the 2018 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec competition have been announced: Deedee Myers, Ph.D., CEO of DDJ Myers, challenge sponsor and Silver CUESolutions provider for their succession planning, executive recruitment and leadership coaching services, Phoenix; David Tuyo II, CSME, CCE, president/CEO, University Credit Union, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Eric Dillon, MBA, ICD.D, Chief Executive Officer, Conexus Credit Union, Regina, Sask.
After a public vote and a judging panel of previous CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec participants reduced the original applicants to the Top 10, a judging panel of Myers, Tuyo and Dillon evaluated and scored each member of the Top 10. Judging was based on their original application video, their two blog posts and the value their project brings to their credit union and to the credit union industry as a whole. The five highest-ranking applicants were named as Finalists.
Judges are responsible for keeping up-to-date on the projects each of the five Finalists are reporting on at NextTopCreditUnionExec.com, and for viewing the final presentations with a critical eye toward creative thinking, content/idea, and style. Each Finalist will be given a seven minute presentation to recap their project at CUES CEO/Executive Team Network™ in Nashville, November 5-7, 2018.
According to Myers, “The Next Top Credit Union Exec challenge is a favorite of mine every year. It’s exciting to watch the growth of the five finalists throughout the challenge. Each one put their own spin on their project idea, and they are all ones that can be replicated at other credit unions.”
Dillon added, “I’ve followed this challenge for many years. There is always a strong cross-section of applicants from Canada, the United States and beyond. It makes for a unique and interesting challenge, as there is a great diversity of ideas. Our finalists have put a lot of thought and effort into their applications and blog posts, and I’m looking forward to their final presentations in Nashville. “
In addition to the judging panel, conference participants will be able to vote onsite for their favorite, and the public will be able to vote online on November 6. The Finalist with the highest score based on audience votes, online votes, social media interaction, as well as the judging panel results, will earn the title of 2018 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec.
