CUBLP designation earned by 48 at CUNA Business Lending Certification School

WASHINGTON, DC (August 28, 2017) — Forty-eight credit union professionals earned the Credit Union Business Lending Professional (CUBLP) designation at the 2017 CUNA Business Lending Certification School, held July 24-27 in Madison. Exclusively available through the school, the designation conveys a thorough knowledge of business lending concepts, practices and regulations.

“In the wake of the NCUA’s MBL rule change earlier this year, credit unions have been presented with far greater opportunities to grow their business loan programs,” said Kathy Smith, instructional design manager at CUNA. “Because of the knowledge and skills they gained in this school, these CUBLPs are well-equipped to capitalize on those opportunities and enhance their business lending initiatives in a myriad of ways.”

CUNA Business Lending Certification School is completed over the course of three years of sequential instruction led by experienced lenders. Each year includes dynamic classroom exercises allowing students to learn through practical application about the types of businesses they interact with at the credit union. To become a CUBLP, students must complete all three years and their respective assessments.

The 2018 CUNA Business Lending Certification School will be held July 23-26, 2018, in Madison. More information will be released as it becomes available. To learn more and register, visitcuna.org/blcs.
